A warning has been issued for millions of UK households with an e-mail address amid the threat of having emails STOLEN or HACKED. As soon as you find your account has been stolen, UK households are urged to take action.

To act, simply change your password from a device that’s already logged in, and use a familiar device. You can use an account recovery process too, and access your account through your recovery email or phone if you have one.

If all else fails, set up a new email account, tech experts at the Guardian report, so "that you can quickly migrate your logins for various sites and services to one you can control."
