CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The National Weather Service issued several flash flood warnings Saturday morning as what’s expected to be the first round of storms of the day moved across the state.
The warnings covered areas in Barbour, Upshur, Marion, Preston and Tucker counties. All warnings were set to expire by 10 a.m.
Meteorologists said most of the rain would exit the state by mid to late morning with the bulk of Saturday expected to be dry.
Another round of showers and thunderstorms are in the forecast for late Saturday evening into the overnight areas. The heaviest rain could be in the southern part of the state.
