CHICAGO — Police are searching for answers after officers were called to the scene of two separate shootings that unfolded just blocks away from each other on the city's West Side on Friday night.
Officers said the first shooting unfolded just after 10 p.m. in the 3300 block of West Walnut Street, in East Garfield Park.
Officers responded to the scene following a report of a person shot in the area and when they arrived, they found the victim, a 47-year-old man, who had suffered gunshot wounds to his arm and abdomen.
While officers were on the scene, they received a call about another shooting that unfolded just blocks away in the 3300 block of West Lake Street.
