AKRON — Two Stark County softball teams take the field today in the Ohio High School Athletic Association state tournament at Firestone Stadium.

Perry is on a Cinderella run , arriving at the Division II state semifinals with a sub-.500 record after playing a tough regular-season schedule in the Federal League. The Panthers seek a fourth state title in program history. Jackson finished third in the Federal League, a game out of first, and is making its first state tournament appearance since 1986.
