Plans for former Edinburgh Fountain Park club and lounge to become restaurant

A recently-closed Edinburgh club and cocktail lounge could be transformed into a restaurant with outdoor seating.

Hype Club, at Fountain Park, opened in 2022 as a new late-night venue at the food and leisure unit on Dundee Street.

However, the space is now empty with the club having recently closed. Plans have now been submitted to Edinburgh Council on behalf of the owners which would see it become a restaurant.

Although the operator is yet to be confirmed, plans show the eatery would include 70 seating covers and an extensive outdoor seating area with around nine tables.

A cover letter submitted by Montagu Evans, states how planning permission was granted in May 2021 for the change of use from class three to 11 to form a nightclub.
