Sovah Health, which operates the hospital in Danville, has bought Spectrum Medical.

The acquisition will go into effect July 1, with Spectrum Medical providers and staff joining Sovah’s medical group, Sovah Physician Practices, Sovah and Spectrum announced in a news release Thursday.

Spectrum, located in the historic River District Tower at 109 Bridge St., will be renamed as Sovah Orthopedics & Sports Medicine.

“Sovah Health is proud to welcome Spectrum Medical to our growing network of specialty providers,” Steve Heatherly, Sovah Health market president and CEO, said in a prepared statement.

Representatives believe the acquisition will enhance access to orthopedics and physical therapy services in Danville and surrounding communities.
