Local projects are among the recipients of millions of dollars being awarded to communities across the state to improve safety for bicycle and pedestrian traffic.
The Transportation Alternatives Program funding will support 44 projects in 33 counties, according to a news release from Gov. Mike DeWine’s office.
Toledo’s Sidewalk Replacement project will get $2,608,481 to replace existing sidewalks, install/repair ADA compliant curb ramps and midblock crossing, and make neighborhood connections to an existing multiuse path within a half mile of six Toledo Public Schools, said Rachel Hart, communications director with the city of Toledo.
