DETROIT — Detroit Tigers outfielder Matt Vierling’s nerves spiked after it appeared he aggravated a right shoulder injury that held him out for three months, four days following his activation in May .

But after heading back to the injured list and meeting with a specialist, Vierling received some good news that there is no structural damage to his shoulder and he plans to get back to throwing on Sunday.

“You go through all that rehab and everything like that, and you come back, and then all of a sudden that happens again, you get nervous,” Vierling told reporters on Saturday. “So to get the news back that it wasn’t anything too serious, just some inflammation was the best thing that could have happened. I’m just excited, I want to get back and help the team and be a part of this.”
