UPDATE: 5:30 p.m. 6/6/25 - The Higginsville Fire Department has confirmed there was no natural gas line leak in the Broadway and Cypress area. A water line was struck. Residents who evacuated may return home. There will be a few customers without water until repairs are made.

HIGGINSVILLE — The Higginsville Police Department says a gas line "may or may not have been hit" around Broadway and Cypress.

According to the post, Spire crews are on their way to the scene. Out of an abundance of caution the area has been evacuated.

The police department will let the public know when it is safe to return to the area.
