KATY, Texas (KIAH) — The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is investigating what appears to be a double murder-suicide at a Katy-area apartment complex that left three people dead on Saturday.

Deputies responded to the complex at 20110 Park Row Drive, near South Fry Road, where they found a woman in her 40s and a child—possibly around 7 years old—dead from gunshot wounds.

According to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, a man believed to be the husband and father was also found at the scene with a gunshot wound and was flown to the hospital via Life Flight, where he was pronounced dead. Gonzalez said the man, who is believed to have been the shooter, was unemployed, struggling with mental health issues, and going through a difficult time.
