CORNING, Calif. - Police in Corning tracked down a theft suspect with the help of a K9 unit on Friday.

According to the Corning Police Department, officers were alerted to the theft of some recyclables early in the morning.

Video footage helped identify the suspect as 29-year-old Fausto Palominos Meza of Corning.

Later in the day, officers received information that Palominos Meza was at a local car wash with a vehicle.

When officers attempted to approach the man, he ran from officers on foot. With the assistance of K9 Ghost and local residents, police tracked Palominos Meza to a home on South Street.

Though the tenants of the house did not know the man who ran into their residence, they allowed officers to search inside for the suspect.
