It wasn’t the type of game Detroit Country Day junior goalie Campbell Lindner imagined herself going through, but it’s certainly one she’ll never forget.

Lindner, a three-year starter, has already appeared in two state championship games and won one with the Yellowjackets.

She’s a veteran leader and someone the team and its fans rally around, but after the first period on Saturday at University of Michigan’s Lacrosse Stadium she was lost in her own head.

“One thing we’ve really worked together with is just quickly getting out of that bad headspace,” Country Day head coach Liz Nussbaum said. “I was a goalie too, and I know once you start letting the goals get to you it can be a tailspin.”
