CROSSLAKE — The season has begun for guided tours at the Uppgaard Wildlife Management Area near Crosslake.
Tours will include information on native wildflowers, trees and birds. The beaver house on the property is active and there are many other possible sights, including wild mushrooms and more, that hold clues to healthy wild foods and/or forest health.
Children and adults are invited to join. Guides will talk about how people lived, fed, clothed and sheltered themselves in the area. Participants are invited to contribute their knowledge and questions.
Tours will begin at 9:30 a.m. Tuesdays from June through August. Tours are at least one hour and possibly longer depending on the interests of those on the tour.
Tours meet at the Uppgaard WMA on the south side of County Road 16. Paths
