ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WACH) — A routine traffic stop in Orangeburg County has led to the seizure of weapons and drugs.

On June 2, the Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Community Response Team (CRT) stopped a vehicle after observing the driver failing to maintain his lane.

When the initial CRT deputy approached the vehicle, he called for backup after spotting a handgun in the car.

A further search of the vehicle turned up another handgun, ammunition, a scale, and 18 multi-colored packages of marijuana.

Authorities say 19-year-old Sammie Green of Orangeburg was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana.

More than 154 grams were located in the vehicle in which Green was a passenger.
