At least 1.7 million eggs have been recalled as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) investigate a multistate outbreak of Salmonella infections. The recall, announced on Friday (June 6), involves eggs distributed by August Egg Company and sold under the following brands: Clover, First Street, Nulaid, O Organics, Marketside, Raleys, Simple Truth, Sun Harvest, and Sunnyside. Consumers are advised to check their egg cartons and discard or return any recalled products to the store.
"The recalled eggs have a printed Julian Date between '32' and '126' followed by a plant code number 'P-6562' or 'CA-5330' on the egg carton or package."
