BERKELEY COUNTY — The Berkeley County Sheriff's office announced the arrest of nine people and the recovery of roughly $130,000 in stolen vehicles and equipment after an investigation that led to the closure of two alleged chop shops and a drug bust.

According to a June 6 news release , the investigation started in May after a series of thefts in the area around Ridgeville and Lebanon.

On May 21, deputies responded to a call from a victim who found his stolen dump truck being driven in Moncks Corner. The man followed the truck to a Horseshoe Drive home, the release said. The driver of the dump truck, later identified as Hunter Driggers-Moore, fled the residence on foot.
