ROUND ROCK, Texas — Kingwood Baseball captured its first state title since 2005 with a 5-4 win over Tomball in the UIL 6A Division II state championship game.
Kingwood was able to hold off Tomball's bases-loaded threat in the bottom of the 7th inning.

Ben Mayorga got the win, pitching 4.2 innings, striking out 4 and allowing 4 runs on 7 hits, while sophomore Ryder Renfro was fantastic out of the bullpen and earned the save.
