SCOTTSDALE, Ariz — First responders in Scottsdale rescued a hiker suffering from heat exhaustion on Windgate Pass Trail, according to authorities.
The Scottsdale Fire Department said the 38-year-old man was two and a half miles up the trail and has been hiking since this morning.
Paramedics have reached the man and are treating him.
Due to his remote location on the trail, along with today's "extreme heat condition," the hiker will need to be air lifted using Fire Helicopter 10, according to the fire department. He will then be sent to the hospital to be treated for potential heat exhaustion.
The National Weather Service has predicted temperatures in the Valley will reach 106 degrees on Saturday.
