MADISON - Tiger Woods could be coming to Madison very soon.

At least Steve Stricker hopes so.

Asked on June 7 if his good friend will appear in the future at Stricker's American Family Insurance Championship, Stricker sounded optimistic.

The setting would be perfect. Woods made his professional debut at the Greater Milwaukee Open 30 years ago. He turns 50 in December, and will be eligible for PGA Tour Champions Tour events like the AmFam.

"Yeah, for sure," Stricker said. "Hopefully someday he can come back to the state thatgave him his first opportunity at the GMO. Yeah, it would be a lot of fun to have him."
