Franklin County is hoping to make future aerial mapping more affordable through cheaper software options or potentially purchasing its own drone.

County Assessor Dawn Mentz told commissioners Thursday it’s time to start thinking about whether to renew a contract with EagleView, a New York-based aerial imaging company. Three former county commissioners spent $348,039 last year on a two-year contract using federal American Rescue Plan Act funds, according to previous Missourian reporting. Mentz said it would be a similar cost for a new contract. ×
