PARIS (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - Coco Gauff won the French Open in a massive comeback against Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus.
This is Gauff's second career Grand Slam, and she becomes the first American to win in Paris since Serena Williams in 2015.
It looked as though she would not come out on top, though, after losing a 77-minute first set to the top seeded player.
She was down but not out, coming back for a 6-7, 6-2, 6-4 victory.
At just 21-years-old, Gauff is also the youngest player to win in Paris since Williams.
Gauff was close to victory in the final three years ago and feared a repeat, but managed to prevail.
"The crowd really helped me today, you guys were cheering for me so hard...I don't know what I do to deserve so much love from the French crowd, but I appreciate you guys so, merci
