PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - A body was pulled from the Willamette River onto the swimming dock at Cathedral Park on Saturday afternoon, prompting a death investigation by the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office and the Medical Examiner’s Office.

The discovery was made around 1:45 p.m. by a person at the park, according to the sheriff’s office. The MCSO River Patrol and Medical Examiner responded to the scene.

Authorities said there are signs the body had been in the water for a long time. The Medical Examiner will work to identify the body and the cause of death.
