Hours after returning home from the Women's College World Series, the Texas Tech softball team is already getting to work on its next bid for the national championship.

Ohio State transfer Jasmyn Burns announced her commitment to the Red Raiders through social media on Saturday night. Burns was recently named a first team All-American by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association at catcher.

Head coach Gerry Glasco said after Friday's Game 3 loss to Texas that Texas Tech would be looking to add some more pitching behind NiJaree Canady, but adding more offense is also a big boost to the returning NFCA and Big 12 pitcher of the year.

Burns adds an immediate offensive punch to the Red Raider lineup after batting .455 with 25 home runs, 14 doubles and 72 RBIs during the 2025 season.
