A man was shot and two others were reportingly stabbed after an incident in Northwest D.C. Saturday night.
D.C. police said the shooting and stabbing took place in the area of Dupont Circle, which is considered the geographic heart of this weekend’s WorldPride events.
“Crowds around the circle MUST disperse,” police said on X .
D.C. Police are at the scene conducting an investigation and ask people to avoid the immediate area of Dupont Circle Park.
The 19th Street entrance at Dupont Circle Metro station is closed due to the investigation, according to transit authorities.
It’s not yet known if the stabbing is connected to the WorldPride festivities.
Dupont Circle Park reopened Saturday and the fencing surrounding it was removed after it was originally set to be closed until 6 p.m
