SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Congressman John Mannion has secured more than $7 million in federal funding for PEACE, Inc. to support nearly 1,000 low-income children and families in Onondaga County.
The money will help fund Head Start programs, which provide early education, health services, and family support to children in need. PEACE, Inc. runs these programs throughout the county, especially in Syracuse—where childhood poverty rates are among the highest in the country.
“Early education is not a luxury—it’s a necessity,” said Rep. Mannion. “This funding gives every child a fair chance to succeed.”
