PAMPA, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — Mike Borger is projected to win the runoff election for Mayor of Pampa, according to unofficial results released Saturday night by the city.
Borger received 895 votes, or 52.59%, while challenger Jimmy Chaney received 807 votes, or 47.41%.
The results remain unofficial until canvassed by the Pampa City Commission during its scheduled meeting on June 10.
Saturday’s runoff followed the May 4 general election, when no candidate secured more than 50% of the vote, prompting a head-to-head contest between Borger and Chaney.
City officials thanked voters for turning out to participate in the runoff and said official totals will be posted following the canvassing process.
