ROUND ROCK, Texas — The magical run for the Atascocita Eagles came to an end Saturday as they fell to Waco Midway in the UIL 6A Division I state championship game. It was the first time in the school's history that the program had reached that stage.

The Eagles' path to the title included a run through powerhouses -- Katy, Pearland and Lake Travis.

"The feelings, man, I mean, they're real,” said first baseman Nick Dykes. “This was a hell of a year, a hell of a run for us. We gave everything we had, we pushed through adversity all year. We’re brothers. I feel like at the same time, you can't be upset, though, we set the bar for the next round of players.”
