AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — Environmental consultant and longtime Amarillo resident David Prescott is the projected winner of the runoff election for Amarillo City Councilmember Place 3.

In an interview with KAMR Local 4 News Reporter Blass Guerrero just before polls closed, Prescott expressed optimism and gratitude for voter turnout.

“I feel great,” he said. “There’s a lot of voter fatigue, but I’m so thankful at how many people have come out to vote.”

Prescott, who founded and operates Talon LPE, an environmental engineering firm based in Amarillo, includes infrastructure and environmental concerns in his campaign, specifically the city’s aging wastewater systems.
