Well...the Braves are in a brutal spot right now. They are having some absurdly bad luck in close games (0-9 in the last 9 one-run games and 0-12 in the last 12 two-run games) and have already eaten up essentially all of their margin for error for the season and perhaps more. They are 9 games behind .500 and 9.0 games out of the last wild-card spot, while sitting a whopping 12.5 games behind the lead in the division and solidly in fourth place. The season feels close to over, even if there is still a little over half the season left and the team does still have a lot of talent. It will be a fascinating trade deadline if the team doesn’t go on a big run to get back in the mix before then.
