Plane passengers in window seats urged to do one thing before they board flight

The window seat on an aeroplane is often the preferred spot for travellers, particularly on long-haul flights where they might fancy a kip. A TikTok user by the name of FindingFiona earlier this year said that those seated by the window should consider applying sunscreen during flights.

Her advice was backed by reports indicating that people are at a heightened risk of sun damage when flying at high altitudes.

"Even though you're inside the aircraft, because of the high altitudes, you're actually experiencing stronger UV radiation, especially if you're in the window seat," she detailed in her video.
