COLUMBIA — A South Carolina lawmaker has been on an attention-seeking media tour which included an appearance on former Florida congressman Matt Gaetz’s TV show and a trip to the White House.

His motive?

To bring “Make America Healthy Again,” or MAHA , to the Palmetto State by cutting off access for some to sodas and candies.

State Rep. Stephen Frank, R-Greenville, wants a version of the Trump administration's federal movement in effect here as outlined in a single Statehouse bill that would cut soda and candy availability out of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's federal Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program's (SNAP) benefits.
