Showers and thunderstorms are expected to hit the D.C. region on Sunday while WorldPride festivities are ongoing in the nation’s capital.
There’s a possibility of a few strong to severe storms during the afternoon and evening hours, which could lead to downed trees and power outages.
“Keep the rain gear on hand for all of your outdoor Sunday plans as scattered showers and thunderstorms are likely throughout the day,” said 7News Meteorologist Eileen Whelan. “It will be an active weather day with highs in the lower 70s with very high humidity.”
Some of those storms could be severe with a chance of tornadoes possible.
