FARGO — Grand Forks Red River’s Sophie Brakke was named North Dakota’s Ms. Golf on Sunday. She could also have been crowned the state’s Ms. All-Around Athlete.
There’s much more to her resume. That also holds true for Minot North’s Kasen Rostad, who was named Mr. Golf, with both awards presented at the Dakota Junior Golf Association Russ Newman Junior tournament at the Fargo Country Club, in which the top boys and girls golfers across the state received invitations.
Brakke set a state record in the long jump at the Class A track and field meet two weeks ago in Bismarck and finished runnerup in the triple jump and 300-meter hurdles. She will compete in track and field at North Dakota State next season.
