Emma Raducanu has admitted she has low expectations heading into her first grass court event of the season, as she revealed she has an injury worry heading into a vital phase of her year.

Raducanu is closing in on a return to the top 30 of the WTA Rankings after an encouraging clay court season, but she is preparing to play in the HSBC Championships at the Queen’s Club with a major fitness concern.

The 2021 US Open champion suffered a back spasm during her defeat against Danielle Collins in a match in Strasbourg the week before the French Open and that is still troubling her now.

“I have had a small interruption with a back spasm again so that was a bit annoying,” revealed Raducani.
