CALEDON - Ryan Fox of New Zealand has claimed victory at the RBC Canadian Open, defeating American Sam Burns in a dramatic four-hole playoff on Sunday at TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley.

Burns delivered an impressive performance, shooting an 8-under 62, the best round of the day, which initially placed him at the top of the leaderboard. However, Fox was not finished. While Burns was signing his scorecard, Fox made a strong push, birdying the 14th and 15th holes to close the gap to just one shot. He then sank a crucial birdie putt on the 18th hole, finishing with a 4-under 66 to force the playoff.

In the playoff, Fox showcased his skill and composure, ultimately securing the championship. Nick Taylor from Abbotsford, B.C., was the top Canadian finisher, tying for 13th place at 13 under par. Taylor previously won the Canadian Open two years ago at Oakdale Golf and Country Club.

The leaderboard was tightly contested throughout the day, with eight players tied for the lead before Fox and fellow third-round leader Matteo Manaserro even began their rounds. Ireland's Shane Lowry made a strong start, beginning his day with an eagle followed by three consecutive birdies, putting him 5 under through just four holes. However, he faltered towards the end, bogeying the 17th and 18th holes, which caused him to drop back in the standings.

The Canadian Open will return to TPC Toronto next year, continuing its tradition of hosting top-tier golf events.
