SPOKANE, Wash. – A Whitworth University student took to Riverfront Park to raise awareness about breast cancer.
Gabrielle Sears, an intern with the Pink Lemonade Stand Challenge , set up a stand in front of the iconic Clock Tower, aiming not just to serve refreshing drinks, but to serve the organization's cause as well.
The Pink Lemonade Stand Challenge began in 2016 when a seven-year-old girl wanted to support her mother, who had breast cancer. Since its inception, the challenge has raised $350,000 worldwide.
Sears' stand operated from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and aimed to educate the community about breast cancer and its impact.
