UPDATE : June 8 at 9:55 p.m.
The fire in an area known as 'No Man's Land' near the 20000 block of SR 24 was reported by a passerby at approximately 10:07 a.m., the East Valley Fire Department said in a release .
The flames initially covered 1-2 acres but quickly expanded to about 100 acres due to moderate winds.
The fire continued to grow and a second alarm for additional resources was activated.
Nearly 100 firefighters, along with three bulldozers, three helicopters and two fixed-wing aircraft performing retardant drops, were deployed to combat the blaze.
East Valley Fire said the fire was contained by 7:00 p.m. after burning a total of 3,820 acres.
No structures were threatened and no injuries reported.
