Drivers who don't obey new rules during the latter half of the day could face arrest after the High Court has extended a full injunction to ban "street racing" to 2026.
Those driving through certain areas in the West Midlands must obey the rules from 3pm to 7am or risk facing a "prison sentence". Wolverhampton Council was granted the full injunction - which limits the number of cars that can gather - in February 2024, with the powers now extended until next year.
The rule forbids road users from gathering in more than two vehicles between 3pm and 7am within the Black Country. Councillor Obaida Ahmed said: "The existence of the street racing injunction is widely known across the Black Country, but we are still seeing occasional incidents.
