Billie Joe Armstrong has a history of speaking out against Donald Trump and his administration so maybe it should not have been a surprise to see him enter the mix as tensions rise in Los Angeles.

The Green Day frontman shared a video to his Instagram showing demonstrators clashing with police while a car burned. Behind it was a track of the band’s song, “(Expletive) Off.”

Armstrong did not exactly call out Trump, his administration or ICE, but considering his history, the timing and imagery, most folks took it as a message directed toward them.

It will be interesting to see if Armstrong has more to say.

It all comes as Trump took control of California’s National Guard over the weekend and directed 2,000 troops to Los Angeles to help deal with federal protests over federal deportat
