Police said two people were shot dead on a busy Las Vegas Strip on Sunday night, in what they called an "isolated incident" that sent people running in terror.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said in a statement early Monday that the shots were fired around 10:40 local time (2:40 a.m. ET) in the 3600 block of Las Vegas Boulevard. Social media posts from the moment of the shooting show it was outside the Bellagio Hotel and Casino. Police were quick to point out that the shooting did not occur inside the casino.
