Debevoise & Plimpton has created a nonequity partnership tier, the firm confirmed to The American Lawyer, while also voting to keep its lockstep compensation model for partners.

Debevoise is one of the latest Am Law 100 firms to create a nonequity tier, after firms such as Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr; Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison; and Cravath, Swaine & Moore also did so in the last few years.
