GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Cornerback Jaire Alexander's time as a Packer has reportedly come to a close.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Monday that the Packers will release Alexander. The move comes amid swirling questions about Alexander's contract and future with the team.

The Packers drafted Alexander in the fire round of the 2018 NFL Draft, and he's been a solid presence in the secondary ever since. He was a Pro Bowler in 2020 and 2022, with the latter season being the best of his career thus far.

He started in 16 regular season games during the 2022 campaign and snagged a career-high five interceptions. He also tallied 14 pass deflections and 56 tackles.

Alexander has dealt with injury throughout his career, however. He played in just four games in 2021 due to a shoulder injury, and
