MEMPHIS, Tenn. - In the past 24 hours, FOX13 has heard dozens of reports of 'outstanding ticket' scams in the Mid-South. "I know it's no truth to it," explained Tasha Smith, who received the text. "I'm not responding. I haven't clicked on it." The message reportedly comes from the Tennessee Department of Vehicles (DMV), which does not exist. It warns of an outstanding traffic ticket, threatening to suspend a person's driving privileges. The Better Business Bureau of the Mid-South cautions drivers to call law enforcement agencies directly if they believe they have a traffic ticket.
