OTTAWA — A 32-year-old man from North Dundas is facing 12 charges after OPP stopped him twice within the space of three days.

On Friday morning, Russell OPP conducted a police traffic stop on Notre Dame Street in Russell Township when the officer’s automated licence plate reader flagged the plate on the pickup truck the man was driving. Police alleged the man was driving while suspended, had an unauthorized licence plate on the vehicle, and had open cannabis in the vehicle. The truck, which was borrowed, was impounded.

On Sunday morning, OPP highway safety division officers stopped a vehicle on Highway 417, after alleging the driver was using their cellphone while driving. They alleged he was the same person who had been charged in Russell on Friday, driving another vehicle he’d borrowed
