MERCER, Pa. (WKBN) -- The trial of the man accused of brutally murdering and dismembering a Sharon teen last year has been delayed.

31-year-old Sharon man DaShawn Watkins is charged with first-degree murder, indecent sexual intercourse, criminal homicide and abuse of a corpse in the brutal death and dismemberment of 14-year-old Pauly Likens in late June of last year.

Coroner John Libonati said in a preliminary hearing that the victim died from what he called “sharp force trauma” in the form of six stab wounds to the back of the head and neck. Libonati says the victim was then dismembered, with remains being scattered in multiple locations in and around the Shenango Reservoir.
