WEATHERSFIELD, Ohio (WKBN) - A man was taken to the hospital with critical injuries after he was hit by a train in Weathersfield Monday morning. McDonald firefighters were called to the tracks just beyond Olive Street in Weathersfield, near the McDonald line, around 10:10 a.m.
McDonald Fire Chief Fred Marcum says a man who is in his mid-50s was walking his bike along the tracks and attempted to cross the tracks as a train was approaching when he was hit by the train.
Marcum says the train was traveling at about 25 miles per hour.
The man was taken to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Youngstown Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
