On Monday, President Donald Trump continued to defend his decision to deploy National Guard troops to Los Angeles amid ongoing protests against immigration enforcement in the area. In a post on Truth Social, the president said in part, "We made a great decision in sending the National Guard to deal with the violent, instigated riots in California. If we had not done so, Los Angeles would have been completely obliterated." Trump sent part of California's National Guard to the Los Angeles area against the wishes of CA Governor Gavin Newsom. Newsom's administration has filed lawsuit against the Trump administration over its decision.
