FARGO — The House vs. NCAA settlement that was finally OK’d by a federal judge in California last Friday was a maze of lawsuits involving billions of dollars. For many fans, it was so complicated that they didn’t pay attention.

But there is one burning question that has yet to be answered and may not be known for another week: What does it mean for North Dakota State fans? Maybe not much, maybe a lot.

Schools have until Sunday to decide whether to opt in to the settlement, meaning they have to operate under new guidelines, or opt out. If they opt out, not much changes. NDSU athletic director Matt Larsen said the athletic department is undecided, but the deadline is looming.
