Eight arrests, more than $2.5 million of drugs seized in Petawawa

PETAWAWA — Police have arrested eight individuals who face a total of over 40 drug and weapon related charges following an investigation into a firearm being fired in an apartment building in the town back in March. The estimated street value of the drugs seized by police is more than $2.5 million.

On Thursday, June 5, search warrants were executed in Ontario and Quebec as part of the ongoing investigation. Eight individuals were arrested and face charges that include trafficking in firearm, weapon, device, or ammunition; conspiracy to commit murder; recklessly discharging a firearm; cocaine trafficking; fentanyl trafficking; possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000; methamphetamine trafficking; possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number; cocaine possession;
