HARRISBURG, Ill. (WSIL) -- The City of Harrisburg announced the passing of former Mayor Eric Gregg.

Gregg served as mayor for two years and led the community through the 2012 Leap Day Tornado.

The city shared that Gregg had a profound impact on many individuals and community efforts.

The City of Harrisburg expressed that he will be missed significantly.

Prayers for peace and comfort are being sent to Gregg's family from the city and the entire community he cherished.
